The beginning of endless shopping

Since we are so excited of having our own house, we decided to do a bit of research on furniture during the weekends. Our list covered mostly items such as dining table, sofa, coffee table and of cos, the mattress. It was considered the most important and foremost item as we will be using it for at least 8 hours per day.

Our first stop was at Friven & Co., we have been eyeing the 600 threadcount bedsheets for some time. The staff there told us that they are having a preview sale this week, but GSS is just the week after, neow us decided to come again for further discounts if any. Keke...

I recalled Millenia Walk has a furniture shop and the Harvey Norman branch sells furniture as well. We were very surprised that the stuff were very much above our budget! So it was just window shopping for us, can see but no touch. A saleslady approached us when we were at the bedding section. We were quite interested in the Sealy beds but none really fits our comfort needs despite trying on almost 6 beds. This lady and her so-called senior kept asking us to place deposit to secure the promotion price. Frankly speaking, they were not really those overboard pushy type, but still, I can't see why I should part with my money for something not suitable.

In the end, we found our ideal bed at Simmons. It was never an impulse buy since we had tried on the Sherrington model at IMM before. The lady who served us told us that model is only available at their franchise store and why not we tried the BeautyRest Tribute which is currently their promotional model and better than Sherrington. Jim and I were quite satisfied with the feel and support and it was the cheapest model out of the 3 which are on promotion. Although we knew the importance of the mattress, we were also aware of the importance of our cashflow. Something within our budget and of quality comfort was what we were looking for. They were also able to deliver by end of the year, so the final decision was made. :)

We've got our house!

It was a sleepless night for Jim but I slept like a pig. The only times that I can't sleep was worrying whether we will have any chance of getting a good queue number. We had already surveyed the leftover flats yesterday and stand a pretty good chance of getting a mid level unit. (better than our initial estimation of 2nd level leftovers)

We went early in the morning at 7am although our appointment was at 8. Had breakfast at Mac and back to HDB hub at 7.45am. There were four couples before us but I could only spot one. Reason being, we saw them the day before as well. :P Jim said probably the other two went in through the other entrance.

Our number flashed across the LED display and we quickly moved into the office. We got our choice unit *hurray* everything was done and over within half hour. After payment was settled, we just got to wait for our HLE to be approved and hoping the day for key collection to come soon!
